Manila Series

This painting is part of my Manila Series I painted in 2007. I currently have it listed on ebay for those interested. I plan to have more listed on ebay as well. http://www.ebay.com/itm/170890303646?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649 this is a link to hopefully get to this item. If not search Acrylic paint on Canvas. This image depicts a boy in Phillippines, appearing content and patiently waiting with his empty plate for his next chance for some food. An overall reminder to remember the poor, and that man can not live on bread alone.

This is the veil i made. I hand-sewed on small beads and roses to create a pretty accent embroidery along the edges. I purposefully kept the square edge to stand out as different and not the traditional round edge. I added sparkle and shine as well along the edges. The shine came from ribbon that I used a sewing machine to add on and the sparkle i used a wash safe glitter and I really like the turn out. My only problem with the veil was when I had dome beads I glued on to add extra sparkle, they snagged on the ground :-( However, when it was spread out delicately it was an overall beautiful finish! The veil is not attached to the tiara, it is attached to a comb, that way i was able to take the veil off for the reception.

Scarves of the Bride's Maids

Wedding Color Hot Pink, Black, and White Ivory

Bride's Maid scarves
This is a brief view of the scarves I made from scratch for my brides maids to go along with a black dress I hoped they already had hanging in their closet. They turned out lovely. I started out with plain hot pink fabric and learned how to use a sewing machine to create a "rolled hem" stitch for the edges. I added the black ribbon as well using a sewing machine to create a frame overall look. I hand-sewed my sister's name into the fabric while adding beads throughout the name. I also added an intricate image to go along with the dress that I wore on my wedding day.
This piece Honor's Jesus because I used my God given talent to create and save on what would have cost a fortune if I had bought brides maid dresses instead.

My wedding gloves

This piece was originally bought at Clair's at the Mall. This piece contained just the glove itself and the plain white flower top and ruffle on edges. I enhanced it by adding embellishments such as intricate bead work along with sparkles and a rose to top it off. I wanted it to have more shimmer.

"Helping Hands" Acrylic on canvas. Clare Polcar. 2011

This is a story about a man that loves to go fishing. On his vacation, he was envited to join some friends and their children to go catch fish.

This man then decided not to fish, but to teach the children how to fish. He made it so every child he saw got a chance at catching a first fish.

In the end, he said "fishing" is like sharing the "Gospel". One has to wait until the fish are hungry to catch anything.

"Funny Moments", Costume Design. Clare Polcar. 2011

Happy Holidays. Yes, this year I wanted to make my own costume! I used a youtube link

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ORhjSDxmlCc to learn how to make this Morticia Addams Costume. I went to Joans to pick out the fabric. It was a lot of fun making this costume! We put laughes on my family that we went to visit. Jesus Loves the Addams Family too! :-)
